Mid Loft Bed With Desk
A mid loft bed provides additional space for studying, sleeping and playing but isn't as tall as a traditional bunk bed. These solid wood beds have capacities of 1,000 pounds. They also come with handrails as well as angled ladders that sit 10" above the bed.
Select from slats, panels or curved bed ends and add matching casegoods based on your needs.
Storage
A lofted bed could provide a lot of extra storage space. Some beds are positioned above a desk with plenty of space for a television or computer monitor and chairs, and an area where you can draw, write or type, as well as other work-related or school-related tasks.
Many of our lofts also have stairs or a ladder to get into the sleeping space. This is a great choice for children who are young, or rooms with lower ceilings. A lot of kids enjoy the difficulty of climbing the stairs to their bed, and it can be an enjoyable way to let them play and to learn how to climb up and down from their lofted mattress. Ladders and stairs are available in various sizes and styles to fit your room and your child's bedroom.
One of the most popular options for sleep, study and storage is our Kivik Sand full loft bed with desk and drawers. The top platform can accommodate the full-size mattress. The lower end includes 4 drawers and large shelves. The shelves can be accessed by taking the top bunk off, or lifting the top bunk. The drawers have solid sides and bottoms made of oak, and also metal ball-bearing glides. They are joined. If desired, a matching low platform or low captain's bed can be added for an additional sleeping area for siblings or friends.

Another option for loft storage is our McQwinn White Junior Loft Bed with Desk and Storage. This loft bed with a mid-height is perfect for kids younger than, or bedrooms with lower ceilings. In the future, the loft extender legs can be removed and converted to the standard size twin or twin over full bunk bed as your children and your family expand.

Reading Nook
The space under the loft bed is the ideal spot to create an inviting reading space. Add a comfortable chair, a reading lamp and a bookshelf filled with baskets of books to create the perfect atmosphere for reading an e-book. Reading nooks with lofts are ideal for those who live in a studio apartment, small apartment or have a small floor space.
With a custom-made mid-loft bed, you can incorporate an enclosed space under the bed that can be used as a desk, reading nook or fort. This area can be stained or painted to match the decor of the bedroom. The frame includes a door and window opening to allow easy access. This can be accomplished using Twin Full, Queen or Twin loft beds. We have a variety of different designs to choose from like the Pirate Fort, Camp, Pirate Fort, Camp or just plain. If your child is a serious reader and loves to read, a loft bed with built in shelves is the best option. Add a comfortable chair to read in and create a space they'll want to return to again and again. Set up a small desk to hold magazines and books or a laptop to study on and they'll have an ideal space to read their favorite books.
The nook is able to be fitted with task lighting that can be adjusted to provide optimal reading conditions. This will prevent eye strain when reading for long periods of time. Softer ambient lighting will also aid in creating a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for unwinding with a good book at the end of the day.
A mid loft bed is a great option for a reading nook since it's not as tall as a bunk or full size loft bed. Children are less likely to be scared by the height of this type of loft and will appreciate having their own space for reading, working or playing. Add a slide to this loft bed and your child will be even more thrilled to spend time in their new nook!
Study Area
Loft beds with desks have become popular with college students in cramped apartments and dorms. They are also being used by kids, youth and teens to create their own bedrooms at home because they can be used to free up space for both the bed and study space. Research shows that children who have their own study nooks and desks are more organized and develop better studying habits. They also perform better at school.
A mid loft bed is perfect for this purpose because it allows the sleeping area to be higher and the workstation or desk can be positioned underneath it. Many of our loft beds come with a desk, whiteboard or corkboard and five 10" deep shelves. These shelves are ideal for studying and storage. We have a variety of footboard accessories, such as a Desk, Bookcase, and more. They can be affixed to the bed for more storage and study space.
Another advantage of the mid loft bed is that it can be converted into a normal twin or full size conventional bed by removing the ladder, slide and guardrails. This makes it a good option for shared bedrooms where kids can each have their own space to sleep and still have plenty of floor space for playing and other activities.
The addition of a slide, or top tent to a luxurious mid-loft bed can make it more exciting for kids who want more excitement. The tent can be used for sleepovers and the slide is a great method to get off the loft bed when it's time for bed. The mid loft bed is an excellent play area since it's not as high as the loft bed that is high. It is also easier to manage for children who are young.
Fun!
If your kids are old enough loft beds are a fun project to complete with your family. As as there's enough space between the sleeping area and the ceiling (around 2 feet) your kids can stain or paint their mid loft bed in any color they want. It's a great option to let them express their personality and style and also add a personal touch their bedroom.
A mid-loft mattress is perfect to create a dedicated work space, with enough room to fit an office chair, a desk or a sofa beneath. You could also turn it into a comfortable nook by adding a comfy bookcase and chair. Add an reading light or a lamp to create the perfect cosy place to read the pages of a book.
Even if you do not want to add a study or desk, you can still use your kids ' mid loft bed for storage. You can double the floor space with the loft bed to house a matching set of dressers or shelves. They're also an excellent option for older children who have outgrown their Barbie or Fire Truck themed bedroom and are now in tweens or teens.
Install a ladder on your child's loft bed to allow them to climb up to the top. This is especially important for kids with low ceilings. And with a ladder rung shaped to be comfortable for climbing and a deep drawer beneath each step, they're also a handy place to keep games and toys.
